I guess it wasn't true... « Thread Started on Aug 1, 2007, 12:15pm »
Isador lay on the freezing cold stone floor of the cavern, sobbing loudly but otherwise not moving or doing anything productive. There in the cavern, he had met a young man in robes who had otherwise seemed pretty normal. His Pokemon was so strong...and after Isador lost, the only thing he could remember was a loud yell and a blast of purplish light...ending with him being here. The tall teen couldn't be sure, but everything somehow felt different here, like he was somewhere much different from the place he had just left. Where was he? The cavern looked much the same, but then, the boy could barely see where he was. Thankfully, his lantern had come with him, but there still wasn't much light.
"He-hello?" He called weakly, voice raspy from wailing. For a moment, the young trainer could've sworn he heard something. Reaching for his Pokeballs, he pulled out one and released Lambie, who took one look around and immediately sped over to him with a look on her face that portrayed something like terror. Pokemon tended to be more in tune with the world than their trainers and other humans; she could definitely feel a difference, even if she couldn't quite define it. Sitting upright, the distraught youth pulled his Mareep onto his lap and hugged her tightly. "I have no idea w-what's going on, Lambie-wambie...do you?"
The Electric-type frowned, sighing deeply and shivering. Even her fleece couldn't block out the cold in this case. <I haven't the foggiest idea. Maybe we should leave and try to find someone...>

Both Pokemon and human were hit with the attack and thrown harder against the rough stone walls. "Augh! What in the name of all that was decent just hit me? Ow...." Isador exclaimed, rubbing at his forehead and arms, even though they were padded by his jacket. Lambie seemed to be okay; more than a little shaken-up, but well enough to stand. "I'm not sure this is such a good idea, Lambie-wambie. Maybe Seele would be better for this one. He can see in the dark, after all." The teen suggested, really just not wanting for his little sheepie to get hurt. She gave him a rather mournful look, but went back into her Pokeball with no further complaint.
The tall trainer scrubbed roughly at his still-dripping eyes and called out his Shuppet, who had managed to recover from his pathetic defeat earlier. The Ghost-type still seemed a little weak, though. "Are you okay, then?" Isador whispered to him, and the self-conscious ghost nodded slightly. Looking around, Seele shook his head. <I don't see anything...but there's probably something there.> His voice was soft, barely reaching the human's ears.

Squawking in fear, Seele tried to dodge the Psybeam but was hit rather strongly, knocked back in the air. Another Ghost-type, how very wonderful. The Shuppet let out a loud noise somewhere between a growl and shriek, thoroughly annoyed and in pain. <What the deuce was that for?> The ghost Pokemon asked loudly, sounding genuinely confused. If he and his trainer had bothered the Misdreavus or hurt her or her children, the attack would be expected. But they had done absolutely nothing to encite an assault.
Isador seemed to think the whole thing was jolly good fun, once he had gotten a good look at the wild Pokemon that had attacked them. Why, Misdreavus were the second-cutest Ghost-type Pokemon! Though somehow, the teen didn't think it would be a good idea to try hugging this one in particular. He didn't fancy the idea of getting blasted again. "Seele, could you use Hypnosis? That would be nice." His voice was quite nonchalant, as if they were all on a picnic and he was asking the Ghost-type to pass the potatoe salad.
Obediently, if somewhat awkwardly, the Shuppet sent a beam of hypnotizing waves towards the wild Pokemon, hoping that she would just fall asleep. Of course, the last time he'd hoped something like that, he'd been blasted with an extreme amount of electricity. Not very good for shedding hope on the situation, perhaps.

Both Pokemon and trainer were delighted when the move worked as it should, sending the other Ghost-type to sleep and giving the two a chance to see how Dream Eater would work. Before, Seele had only gotten a chance to put the opposing Pokemon to sleep, without using the follow-up attack. And now that the Misdreavus was asleep...the Shuppet grinned with wicked glee...now he would get his revenge for the damage done to him. He was moving before Isador even gave the command. "Dream Eater!" The teen called, but by then, the ghost Pokemon was already zooming towards the sleeping Ghost-type, mouth open.
Watching his Pokemon fly towards the other, the young trainer's hand went for the only empty Pokeball he had left. It wasn't the right moment to use it, but it was best to be prepared anyway. His very last ball...would he come to regret this decision? Someday in the near future, might he come across an even more special Pokemon, but be unable to capture it? It seemed a rather sad thing; Isador made a mental note to purchase more once he managed to get back outside and into some sort of civilized town.

(Alright, danke!)
Seele licked his ghostly lips, grinning like a cheshire cat. In the graveyard, he hadn't gotten much opportunity to use that particular move...but what a rush! As he ate, the Ghost-type could feel the pain he was causing the other Pokemon and the health that was returning to his body. It was like a vindictive drug! The Shuppet couldn't wait until he got the chance to do it again...perhaps on Gorin's Pokemon, whenever that Gym Battle eventually came. At the moment, though, neither he nor his trainer had any clue where they were besides that it looked like Torrenta. Well, this part of it did. Perhaps the outside was radically different.
Cheering gleefully, Isador tossed his last Pokeball at the fainted Pokemon, wondering what he would name the Misdreavus if the capture was successful. Perhaps Dirk? Absinthe? Isador Jr.? Oh, so many lovely nicknames...His Shuppet, seeming to sense the boy's thoughts, called warningly, <If you give this poor Ghost-type a stupid name, I'll hurt you. Badly.> The last word was stated with such malice that it made the poor young trainer shudder.
